After entering the teleportation passage for just over ten seconds, the teleportation passage in front of the group once again glowed with light.
Tigranth and his two subordinates returned to the temple through the teleportation passage.
They had merely taken a short walk inside the teleportation passage, yet thick frost had already formed on the armor of Tigranth and his companions.
Tigranth’s face appeared pale as he said something to the others, then signaled to his subordinates to distribute bottles of liquor to everyone.
Fang Heng instinctively took a bottle, shook it in his hand.
Was it really liquor?
What did it mean?
“The other side of the passage is a cavern. No immediate dangers have been discovered, but the environment inside is extremely terrifying. The cold energy there is several times stronger than the one outside,” Kotal translated Tigranth’s description roughly, then turned to look at Fang Heng with a somewhat serious expression. “Fang Heng, given our current situation, we can’t stay down there for too long. This specially-made liquor can temporarily resist the cold aura. If you can’t hold out, don’t hesitate to turn back immediately.”
“Got it.”Fang Heng’s retina flashed with game prompts:
[Hint: The player’s death realm reputation has reached the basic 2,000 points standard. The player has deducted 200,000 death realm contribution points. The player has received the item: Soulfire Liquor (500 ml).]
[Hint: The player can exchange Soulfire Liquor with special NPC: Commander Tigranth (Price: 300,000 contribution points).]
[Item: Soulfire Liquor (500 ml).]
Description: A special liquor crafted by the royal family of the Clayton Empire. The brewing process incorporates millennia-old souls and ice spirits, earning it the title of “Ice and Fire in One” among the Dark Clan. This high-tier liquor is reserved for the outstanding heroes and royalty of the Clayton Empire.
Description: Consuming it grants immunity to most cold attribute attacks for 120 minutes. After 120 minutes, the effect will gradually wear off.
Description: Consuming one bottle (500 ml) permanently increases the player’s ice resistance (multiple uses will result in a slower permanent boost).
Good stuff!
Fang Heng’s eyes lit up as he read the game prompt. Items that permanently increase resistance were invaluable.
Exchanging 200,000 contribution points for something like this was definitely worth it.
Fang Heng opened the bottle of liquor, then took a deep swig, gulping it down in one go. The nearby Dark Clan members couldn’t help but look at him in surprise.
The moment the liquor infused into his body, Fang Heng instantly felt an extremely cold aura flowing down his throat and into his body, freezing him from the inside out, as if he were about to be completely encased in ice!
The freezing sensation lasted for a moment, before a burning heat surged through his limbs and bones, completely dispelling the coldness inside. It felt as though he were immersed in a furnace.
It was a true “ice and fire” contrast.
They really weren’t kidding.
“Haha!”
Tigranth, the commander, also laughed heartily when he saw Fang Heng’s carefree consumption. He slapped Fang Heng’s shoulder with a heavy hand before saying something to the others. Nodding to himself, he drank a whole bottle of the liquor just like Fang Heng and turned to step into the teleportation passage.
Fang Heng asked, “What did he say?”
“He said that after we deal with the Disaster creatures, he absolutely must challenge you to a drinking contest.” Kotal said with a helpless expression, shrugging his shoulders. He took a small sip of the fiery liquor, then shivered all over. Nodding, he added, “Let’s go.”
The cold bite of the Soulfire Liquor was overwhelming, and even among the Dark Clan, it was rare for someone to drink it down all at once like Fang Heng had.
“We move.”
Fang Heng followed Kotal as they stepped into the teleportation passage.
On the other side of the portal, a visible wave of cold air hit them immediately.
Fang Heng’s body quickly responded with a surge of intense heat, pushing back against the chilling aura.
This cold reminded him of the Frost Hell.
D*mn it!
Could the death realm crevice in the Punoze game world possibly lead here?
Looking up, Fang Heng noticed that the view ahead was almost entirely obscured by visible frost.
At first glance, it seemed they had entered some underground space, with the passage’s stone walls covered in a thick layer of ice.
The cold aura continued to flow down the passage, steadily pressing forward toward the group.
Commander Tigranth’s face grew serious, his expression hardening as he observed the intense cold energy that filled the air.
The icy aura was extremely powerful.
The cold energy source seemed to be right ahead.
“The cold energy here isn’t normal, everyone stay alert,” Commander Tigranth said as he led the group forward.
Fang Heng and the Dark Clan members had spent some time together, and they were now able to understand a few basic terms. Hearing this, they cautiously followed behind.
The group slowly made their way forward, soon passing through a passage and arriving at a cavernous space ahead.
In the center of the cavern stood a massive ice crystal, about three meters tall.
Tigranth suddenly noticed something and immediately raised his hand, signaling everyone to stop approaching.
The entire Dark Clan halted in place, expressions filled with complex emotions, as if they had seen something extraordinary or dangerous.
Huh?
Fang Heng, who had been observing the ice crystal carefully, suddenly furrowed his brow.
There it was!
The ice crystal itself didn’t seem to pose any immediate danger, but Fang Heng noticed several swirling black mists surrounding it.
The lingering will of the Empress!
There were at least three distinct fragments of it!
Fang Heng’s heart raced with excitement.
If they could be absorbed, his God of the Underworld’s skill level might be maxed out right away!
Fang Heng’s eyes gleamed with excitement, and he couldn’t help but take a half step forward.
“Fang Heng, don’t go closer!”
Kotal raised his hand, stepping in front of Fang Heng to stop him from advancing any further.
Fang Heng halted, his eyes fixed on the massive ice crystal ahead, and asked, “What is that?”
“Ice Frost Soul,” Kotal whispered. “At the highest point of the death realm, in a place frozen year-round, there is an extremely cold soul crystal. It is believed to be the source of the death realm’s ice soul aura. Cold-blooded creatures gather there, born from the influence of both the ice soul and the death realm’s power.”
“This ice soul crystal we’re seeing is much smaller than the one there…”
Kotal stared at the ice soul, a look of confusion on his face as he muttered to himself, “Could it be that the Empress obtained the power of the ice soul and stored it here… but that doesn’t quite make sense…”
Fang Heng continued to observe the three clusters of black fog next to the ice crystal, which were formed from the Empress’s will.
Forget everything else, those three clusters of the Empress’ will in the black fog had to be his!
Unfortunately, he had already absorbed the fragmented will of the Empress earlier. To attempt to absorb more now would be too risky.
There was no rush.
After all, no one was competing with him for it, right?
Fang Heng forced himself to calm down.
Upon further observation, Fang Heng realized that the Empress’ fragmented will here was somewhat lacking in vitality, likely due to the influence of the ice soul aura. It gave off a very stiff and rigid feeling.
Commander Tigranth and his team observed for a moment, then quietly discussed amongst themselves.
The group fell silent again.
It seemed that, aside from the Empress’s broken will, the only thing left here was the ice soul crystal.
Fang Heng nudged Kotal’s shoulder and whispered, “Help me tell Tigranth that the three auras next to the ice soul crystal are the Empress’ shattered will, and they are very useful to me. I hope they can assist me.”
