Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4126: Realm Core's Existence

Lereza shuddered as she stood in the air. She was absolutely shaken by the information Calypsea provided her with.

The Realm Core was pleading with her? The Realm Cores were known to be practically inanimate yet alive as there were many mysterious reactions and phenomenons that displayed behavior equivalent to the realm having its own vitality, the very first being the core barring bonding to anyone who isn't an Immortal Emperor Stage or equivalent stage expert.

Of course, people below the Immortal Emperor Stage could also form a bond with a Lower Realm's Core, but anyone above them cannot. It was an ironclad rule changed by no one in the history of the human race.

Nonetheless, this is just one of the examples of why the Realm Core was alive, but these examples alone couldn't prove that it had life in it, much less a semblance of consciousness. People merely thought it was a naturally formed core like the Immortal Crystal Vein Source, but it is extremely special and possesses all the elemental variety that could be placed in one vein source.

For such a unique and ridiculous core to possess a spirit was nothing more than a fool's dream and the ravings of a retarded scholar.

Lereza had read a lot from a young age ever since the World Master had taken her. It wasn't like she was with the World Master and had only met her a few times. The rest of the time was fully spent learning about the world so she could be useful to an already erudite Saintess. She had fully immersed herself in her studies, but even with her knowledge, she was caught off-guard by this revelation.

Lereza recollected herself the next second and asked in a solemn voice.

"W-What do you mean the Realm Core pleaded? Did it actually talk to you?"

Calypsea blinked before she nodded cutely.

"…!" Lereza trembled as hundreds of lightning bolts flashed across her mind.

There were many theories stating that Realm Cores were rumored to be alive, but even if it was alive, it was claimed that it was nothing more than a wild, instinctive consciousness like that of a feral beast.

In this case, she felt it could be even weaker.

Lereza wondered if Calypsea merely felt some waves that could be described as emotions and, in this case, fear and forgiveness. For Heart Intent users, Lereza knew it should be possible for them to perceive such emotional waves, but she guessed they couldn't.

If not, they would've already made countless research materials on it and published them for the sake of the human race's growth. She didn't think they were keeping it a secret unless it was detrimental or there was a huge karmic burden involved in becoming aware of these existences. Still, in the vast flow of time, how could there not be a single Heart Intent user who was able to discover its presence?

'Perhaps only those who have reached Level Three or even Level Four Obscure Intent in Enigmatic Heart Laws could notice such a thing…'

Lereza remembered having reached such a conclusion way back when she was all alone in the library, spending time reading countless research materials that the World Master had collected throughout her journey.

Even the World Master didn't write anything about Realm Cores having a spirit. If she knew and didn't tell, then Lereza could only think that it involved karmic burden.

But knowing this information due to Calypsea, Lereza didn't feel anything. Was it because she became an Empyrean?

Nonetheless, what she thought were fluctuations of emotions turned out to be actual communication. She couldn't help but ask despite being short on time to make a decision.

"Did it use the Sky Word Language to communicate?"

Calypsea shook her head, "No."

"Then how…?"

Lereza couldn't hide her curiosity. She almost leaped into the sea of black flames to get hold of Calypsea but managed to stop herself. As a bookworm and a seeker of knowledge and the truth, she was unable to contain herself. ⱤΆℕȱ₿ΕṠ

Calypsea lowered her head as she pouted. She extended her hand, appearing to mull over what she was about to say.

"How can I say this…?" She suddenly raised her head and created a purple-black zither from her apocalyptic flames, "Yes, this is like how elder sister Yilla pulled zither strings and played music. I hear these strange notes, which I can understand strangely. I didn't know I had this ability. When I first heard it, I thought it was my stomach rumbling, but slowly but surely, I was able to decipher it note after note."

Calypsea tried to pull on the string of flames, but no sound came. She poked her tongue out and made a spoiled expression that hid her embarrassment before she turned around and touched the crystalline surface that was half-melted.

"O'Young Spirit," A strange voice reminiscent of an ethereal breeze forming the voice belonging to neither gender echoed, "Please spare me. I'm still young and haven't reached the end of my life cycle. If I die prematurely, it would cause all the other realms to suffer and would become a prelude to the Desolate Era."

"Desolate Era?" Calypsea raised her brows as she opened her mouth, but only weird noises came out.

"What'sat? A unique dish that surpasses you in taste?"

"T-That's not food. The Desolate Era means… no food."

"No food!?"

Calypsea jumped. Her expression trembled, but she instantly frowned, "Fmph! You're just trying to deceive me into not eating you. Elder sister Evelynn warned me about people like you. She said not to heed the word of strangers who dare to use food against me~"

"…!"

The other side seemed to have gone speechless but alarmed, the noises appearing like they did not know how to deal with this menace.

While the two of them were communicating, Lereza could comprehend nothing other than Calypsea singing in a strange voice. She couldn't decipher it one bit. However, her pupils couldn't stop shaking as she recalled something.

It became obvious that these two weren't using an acoustic language. Of course, it was still sound, but not the ones used through a vocal chord. It was not a sound created from the soul as well.

Instead, she recalled the very first ancient language used by the spirits in other Galaxies. It was long lost but said to have been spoken by the very first spirits of the universe. She didn't know a single word or a character from it because it was spoken using one's fire of life.

It was known as the Primordial Spirit Language, otherwise known as the Fires of Life Language in the human race.
